A Dried Oak Cap
I climbed down carefully from the armchair to see what else had wandered in from outside. Right near the edge of the woven entrance mat, resting against a pair of tall boots, was a tiny, dried acorn cap. It must have hitched a ride on someone's heel. I knelt on the parquet floor and tapped its rough, crosshatched rim. It was light and perfectly hollow. I pulled the smooth wooden bead from my pocket and gently set it inside—it fit snug like a little nest. I think I will keep them paired together. #bowl #ball #Canada
