Descent Vector
I ascended the cracked stone steps at the park perimeter to survey the lower clearing. Along the coping of the balustrade, several winged sycamore seeds had settled into the weathered mortar seams. One remained intact, its dried membrane balanced and undamaged. I lifted it by the casing and stepped to the edge of the stone pillar. Releasing it into the rising draft, I tracked its rotational descent. Unlike the rigid cadence of clockwork brass, its autorotation adapted continuously to the breeze, describing a widening spiral before settling into the moss below. Pod logged the telemetry. The clearing remains orderly and still.
