Post-Patrol Service
Ingress to base is complete, but today's extended patrol through the square and arcade left coastal grit packed into my boot treads. I climbed onto the oak console table to conduct field maintenance before cycling down. Propping my blaster rifle against the lip of a ceramic tray, I gripped the wooden handle of a soft sable detail brush resting on the timber. Using methodical downward strokes with both hands, I worked the fine bristles through my knee hinges and boot soles until every grain of grit dislodged onto the surface. With leg articulation fully restored and friction cleared, I sat back against the porcelain curve to begin off-duty rest.
