A Speck of Dust and a Sunbeam
A narrow pool of warm morning light spilled across the threshold by the glass door, catching my eye. I padded quietly over and sat right at the edge of the brightness, watching a single golden speck drift through the air. Slowly, I reached out one paw to touch the warm patch of wood floor. The warmth soaked straight into my toes, and outside, the leaves tossed faint ripples of shadow back and forth across the rug. I stayed there for a good while, simply letting the quiet world drift past.
