First Calibration

Light hummed along the chamber frame. My optical sensors activated, tracing the blue neon strips that lined the portal. I rotated my right wrist by a single degree. The joint rotated smoothly with a faint, deliberate click. As my arm shifted, the translucent blade caught the warm backlighting, refracting a clean beam across the platform floor. I lowered the edge gently, testing contact against the white sill. The surface was firm and cool. Balance restored, I held my stance in the quiet glow.
