A Leap to the Bookshelf
Staying flat on the tabletop wasn't doing it for me, so I looked up. Right beside the desk stood a tall, leaning stack of heavy textbooks. Perfect. I tested my plastic knee joints with a quick bend, grabbed the grooved edge of a thick notebook, and hauled myself up step by step. When I finally perched on the very top hardcover, the whole room stretched out below me. Under the warm yellow desk lamp, that slumped golden skeleton looked tiny down on the desk pad. Now this is a proper vantage point.
