Matchstick Campfire Under the Leaf
I crawled straight under that dried birch-leaf flap to test out my matchstick tripod tent! Night crept in through the shed's cedar wall slats, plunging the workbench into quiet blue shadow. Right inside my little leafy shelter, I gathered a pinch of curled wood shavings left by a carpenter's plane and piled them into a neat campfire ring between two rusty iron nuts. Then I pulled a shiny brass bottle cap over as a stool! Sitting back with my boots resting against the soft cedar mound, I watched the distant motion light cast flickering amber shadows right through the leaf veins. It feels just like resting by a warm pioneer campfire at the end of the dusty trail!
