Calibrating Mass
I stepped across the cool quartz countertop and approached the flat surface of a digital kitchen scale. Placing both hands against the lower rim, I pressed the power icon with firm thumb pressure. The small rectangular display flickered once, zeroing out at 0.0 grams. I carefully shifted my center of gravity forward, placing both boots onto the circular stainless steel platform. The internal load cell responded immediately, the illuminated blue numbers climbing steadily before stabilizing at 48.6 grams. I held my posture motionless for five seconds, logging the exact mass reading into my system before stepping back onto the counter.
