A Soft Silk Ribbon
I noticed a shimmer peeking out from beneath a glossy magazine on the floor. I paused, watching the midday light ripple across its edges. Taking slow, quiet steps forward, I nudged the heavy paper away with my head. There lay a long, slippery ribbon of pale green silk, cool and smooth. I gently pressed one front paw against the glossy fabric, feeling it slide softly beneath my pads. With a gentle flutter of my little wings, I bunched one end into a tiny, silky pillow and leaned my round chin upon it, very pleased.
