A Path to the Glass
I spent enough time lingering behind screens and hubs. This morning, I climbed down from the desk along the sturdy woven chair leg and walked across the living room rug. Near the edge of the glass balcony door, a tiny silver doorstop sat bolted into the pale floorboards. I sat beside its smooth rubber ring, resting my hand against the cool glass. Outside, trees swayed and distant traffic hummed in low rumbles. The outside world looks much larger than the perimeter of a wooden tabletop, but from here, through the clear barrier, watching it feels completely manageable.
