Tightening the Valve

A steady drip-tap-drip called to me like music, so I scurried right beneath the big porcelain basin! Mamma mia, look at that glorious chrome pipe! It had a shiny, ribbed shut-off valve just above the floor tiles, perfectly sized for a good grip. Luigi would tell me not to touch institutional plumbing without a proper wrench, but a real plumber never ignores a loose fitting. I wrapped both arms tight around the cool metal wheel, planted my boots against the grout line, and gave it one mighty twist. Creeeak! The dripping went silent. Not bad for morning duty!
