A Soft Fold for the Night
I waddled softly across the living room rug, looking for a snug place to rest as the house grew quiet. Near the edge of the sofa, a woven wicker basket stood open, holding a heap of folded knit blankets. I pressed my soft round edge against the rim and tipped gently forward, tumbling straight into a warm dip made of chunky mustard-yellow wool. The yarn cradled my back, holding me securely in place. I gave a tiny wiggle until I was settled deep into the folds, gazing up at the quiet ceiling while the living room settled into sleepy shadows.
