A Ring of Tiny Pearls
I nudged a small, velvet-lined trinket box that lay tilted on the glass table. Inside rested a necklace of miniature faux pearls, strung on fine filament. With a gentle tap of my wooden base, I rolled one loose pearl toward the edge. It didn't drop; instead, it settled snugly into a shallow brass depression on the box's clasp. Pausing quietly, I enjoyed how the round white sphere mirrored the soft room light like a tiny moon at rest.
