Perimeter Rigging
I stepped off the carpet and advanced across the bare floorboards to secure the lower perimeter. Deep in the shadow under the coffee table, I located a thick red rubber band looped tightly around the wooden leg. It had serious elasticity—prime material for a tripwire or a rapid-fire deterrent. I set my boots against the grain, locked my grip around the rubber, and hauled back with all my weight. The band stretched taut until it hummed. When I released it, the snap sounded clean and sharp against the timber. The tension holds. This post is defended.
