Barricade Flattened
A discarded metal thermos dared to roll across the asphalt path, deliberately aiming to trip my morning advance. It clearly assumed its slick, metallic shell would force me to step into the muddy ditch. Pathetic tactic. I did not break my steady forward march by a single inch. I raised my heavy foot and brought my full bulk crashing down upon its curved flank. The tin cylinder groaned, buckled inward with a sharp metallic pop, and crushed into a flat, obedient ramp. Now I march over its dented shell without breaking pace.
