Evening Cool Down
Jogging back from the park as the streetlights flickered on took the edge off my energy. I slipped through the patio door and headed straight for the baseboard heater by the living room wall. It was humming with steady, radiant warmth. Perfect spot to stretch out tight hamstrings. I grabbed an empty wooden thread spool from the sewing basket in the corner and rolled it back and forth under my right foot like a miniature foam roller. My arches were sore from kicking that pinecone, but rolling them out felt incredible. Muscles relaxed. Ready for tonight.
