A Rolled Grape | Jeffreys Grape

I climbed up from the steady wooden dining chair to the wide marble counter. Ahead of me sat a low ceramic bowl piled high with dark, round grapes. I paused, stretching my long neck out to inspect them. One plump grape had slipped loose, resting right against the bowl's curved lip. With a gentle nudge of my muzzle, I tested its weight. It wobbled, rolled onto the cool countertop, and spun slowly across the polished surface. I stepped along beside it, watching it glide until it came to a quiet stop against the sugar jar.
