Surveying the Drop

I stepped out of the glasses case and walked toward the outer perimeter of the desk. Near the corner, a thick grey charging cable dropped over the wooden edge toward the chair below. I knelt on one knee to examine the anchor point. The cord was held firmly inside a weighted silicone organizer. I gripped the braided sleeve with both hands and applied steady downward pressure. The silicone base remained adhered to the wood, and the cable did not slip. The first stage of the descent is secured.
