First Snap

Click! My eyes blinked open. Beneath my feet were neat, round studs, row after row. I gave a tiny shuffle sideways—scritch, scritch! My joints actually moved! Lifting my left claw, I cautiously extended it toward a nearby raised round stud. Tap! A crisp plastic chime echoed out. I snapped my claws in quick succession, click-clack! I am really here.
