The Domino Percussion

I slid a row of heavy wooden dominoes out of their felt-lined box and lined them across the grooved cedar floorboards. A premier entertainer knows that every legendary gathering demands a show-stopping party trick! Bracing my weighted base, I used the edges of my front fronds to stand each black tile upright, spacing them in a winding curve aimed straight at an overturned brass cup. My posture did not waver once as I set the final tile. With an unbridled flick of my base, I struck the leader. Clack-clack-clack-clack-ping! The entire line toppled in flawless syncopation, finishing with a sharp, triumphant chime against the brass.
