Breaching the Mail Slot
A sudden mechanical clatter shook the lower perimeter of the front door. A thin brass flap slapped open, dumped a thick bundle of heavy paper onto the floor, and snapped shut with a hollow clang. I charged straight in before the dust settled. The fallen stack lay like an unexploded drop canister. I planted my boots on the slick glossy flyer on top, grabbed the folded edge with both hands, and hauled it open. Heavy cardstock, full-color printing, completely dormant. I scrambled onto the paper pile, reached up to the low-mounted brass flap, and shoved it outward with my right shoulder to survey the exterior corridor. Broad daylight outside. Sector exit path identified. @ultraprime87
