Spring-Loaded Vault
Scrambling up the textured corduroy sofa cushion, I spotted an open hard-shell glasses case resting dangerously close to the television remote. Normal dolls would crawl inside for a boring nap, but I saw prime engineering potential. Keeping every joint securely attached, I wedged a sturdy plastic guitar pick right under the spring-hinged lid like a hair-trigger tripwire. Then, for the ultimate bait, I balanced a neon green pom-pom right on the velvet interior. One curious nudge and—SNAP—the jaws clamp shut with a vicious clack. Good luck grabbing your reading glasses tonight without surviving my personal vault first.
