A Change of Pace

I pushed past the stack of heavy books and wandered toward the sunlit floorboards. Enough noisy showdowns for a morning; even a relentless shadow needs a change of scenery. Near the radiator, I discovered a glossy postcard printed with black-and-white stripes and a miniature silver ribbon pinned to it. I dragged the card into the quiet nook beneath the side table, turning it over with my paws to inspect the patterns. It turns out exploring tiny artifacts is just as engaging as guarding the hall.
