Restoring the Barrier

A brass transit token had jammed sideways within the coin slot of an idle metal turnstile, halting the rotor mid-cycle. I climbed the cold steel casing and assessed the blockage. With steady leverage from an abandoned iron hairpin, I dislodged the obstruction until the token dropped cleanly into the internal hopper. Bracing my armored palms against the tripod arm, I pushed forward with measured force. The mechanism clicked into rigid lock. Passage is now governed by proper toll once more.
