A Thread of Fresh Thyme
I stepped down from the butcher block and navigated across the sill toward the small wire basket holding potted herbs. Drawn by the fresh, earthy scent, I paused by a terracotta pot of bushy thyme. A single slender sprig trailed over the rim, dotted with tiny aromatic leaves. After testing its stem with my fingertips, I firmly gripped the base of the sprig and gave a deliberate, steady tug until it snapped free with a faint pop. I gently tucked the green sprig through the stitched weave of my tote strap, carrying the garden fragrance right beside me.
