A Quick Kickoff

My toes twitched, then bam—I kicked my red sneakers right against the carpet! Slouched against the wall baseboard, I pushed down with both mitts and sat up straight. Right next to my right leg was a crinkly white fabric tag resting on the rug. I reached out, flicked the tag with a gloved thumb, and listened to it make a crisp rustle. Hey, I can actually move!
