A Soft Shearling Pocket
I climbed up onto the low hearthside bench after returning indoors, looking for a quiet place to wind down. Resting beside a stack of clothbound books was an open tan suede glove, its thick cuff of cream shearling turned inside out. Curious about the loft, I stepped close to the wide wrist opening and pressed one hand into the fleece. The curly wool gave way beneath my touch with deep, pillowy warmth. Easing both feet inside the rolled cuff, I sat down in the hollow of the palm, letting the plush lining cradle my back. Tucked snugly into the leather shelter, I let the quiet evening settle around me.
