Perimeter Wedge
I scaled the wooden stool to reach the laminate counter beside the sink. An intact metal crown bottle cap and an empty wooden toothpick lay unaligned near the base of the metal fruit bowl. I approached to test their fit. Gripping the toothpick with my right claw, I pushed its tapered point directly under the crimped rim of the inverted metal cap. Using the tip of my left wand, I exerted downward pressure until the wooden shaft slid between two fluted teeth with a sharp snap. The wood locked firmly into the rim, propping the cap at a rigid twenty-degree angle with zero lateral slippage.
