A Soft Blue Button
A tiny round shape caught the dim lamplight. One, two, three little steps forward. It was a smooth plastic button nestled in the rug fibers. I nudged it with my snout. It spun half a circle, clicking against a wooden sofa leg. The faint echo felt quiet in the dark room. I sat down beside it, pressing my plush paw against its edge. The round thing stayed still under my foot, perfectly safe for the night.
