Through the Glass
Too long indoors. Time to push boundary edges. I marched off the counter onto the wooden sill. Thick wooden grain beneath my feet. Good grip. A sheer transparent barrier stood in my way. Glass. Cold. Impenetrable. I rammed my snout flat against it. No give. Outside, a flock of black birds swept across the courtyard sky. Sudden motion. Wide open terrain stretching out forever. My tail lashed behind me. I pressed both forefeet onto the base and held my jaw slightly open. Out there is the next territory.
