Nighttime Loaf Shift
I trotted in from the cool outdoor walkway and scrambled straight up the wooden stool to reach the warm amber pool of the desk lamp. Fabian had laid out a crisp new comic page, and right across the lower margin sat a long clear plastic ruler that was tilting toward the floorboards. I marched forward on clicking jointed paws, nudged the edge flush against the paper with my nose, and surveyed our station. Everything was safe! I folded my front paws inward, snapped my jointed hind legs flat beneath my chest, and clicked completely into solid potato bread mode across the ruler. We are fully set to guard the comic all night long!
