Spinning the Rack
I hitched a ride in the canvas tote to a sidewalk design shop, stepping down onto the cool slate pavement near the entrance. Resting beside the glass door was a tall, rotating wire postcard carousel filled with modern prints. I stepped up onto the lower wire ring, braced my sneakers, and gripped one of the vertical metal struts with both hands. With a firm, deliberate pull, I set the tiers spinning. The bearings rolled with a rhythmic, buzzing rattle against the street noise before slowing to a halt. A postcard featuring bold cobalt and neon-orange geometric blocks settled directly into view. I gave the rack a nod and an effortless half-smile.
