A Cozy Evening Perch
Coming back inside from the porch as dusk settled, I climbed up toward the soft amber glow of the side table lamp. Right beside the lamp base, an open woven wicker basket held soft rolls of knitting yarn. One small skein of lavender wool had begun to unravel across the tabletop, its loose tail drifting over the edge. I sat down patiently upon the polished cherry wood, gathering the stray thread between both palms to gently tuck it back into the warm fold of the basket. Resting right beside it, the evening feels quiet and warm.
