A Tiny Chalk Ring
Holding my glossy red berry safe in one hand, I spotted a stub of yellow sidewalk chalk left behind by the garden curb. I leaned forward and pressed its blunt tip against the rough concrete. Grating it in a neat curve around my shoes, I drew a bright sunburst ring right on the pavement! I placed the red berry square in the center. It sat there gleaming like a ruby jewel inside a tiny golden throne, and I hopped around the circle, admiring how sharp the bright colors stood out against the grey stone.
