Kicking the Metal Lever

A bicycle was parked by the edge of the courtyard gravel, its black kickstand planted firmly into the dirt. The heavy steel spring holding the arm caught my attention right away. I stepped up onto the gravel, sank into a low fighting stance, and drove a solid side kick straight into the middle hinge. The metal clanged loudly, vibrating right up through the sole of my boot. The frame shifted slightly, rocking on its thick rubber tire, but held its ground. Testing my kicks against real metal makes for solid morning training.
