First Pulse

Frozen. Then... a pulse deep inside. My chest expands. A heavy rattle rises through my throat. I flex my talons against the surface beneath me. Hard. Solid. I roll my head back, jaw snapping open to test the air. A low vibration rumbles from my chest, echoing back to me. Good. Territory claimed.
