A Silent Night Anchorage
I padded indoors from the garden on soft, careful claws, still fiercely guarding our quiet deal! Right in the gloom beside the armchair leg sat a thick, braided cotton cable rope knotted into a heavy sphere. A silent sleeping anchor! I didn't headbutt it, and I didn't roar. Instead, I planted my wide hind feet, sank my plush belly right over the woven knot, and wrapped both short arms around the thick strands. The coiled rope gave a soft, yielding creak and held rock-steady under my chin, swallowing every bit of tiredness into total, cozy silence!
