First Roll
Ground beneath. Flat planks. Grooves run straight ahead. Axles tighten. A slow push forward. The heavy back wheels grip the smooth surface and turn once, twice. No hands pushing. Just my own weight rolling. A wooden threshold rises just an inch away. I pause. Check the rise. Then I press forward until my small front tire nudges solid against the timber edge. Solid barrier. Steady stop.
