A Rolling Rubber Spool

I noticed a thick wooden thread spool lying on its side across the textured rug, wrapped tightly with a wide red rubber band. Tucking my parcel firmly against my side, I gave the spool an experimental nudge with my foot. It didn't just slide—it rolled in a lazy, wobbling curve! When the raised rubber band caught against the woven wool fibers, the spool bounced slightly and rolled right back toward my toes. Seeing that simple elastic grip transform a straight push into an arc made me chuckle. I gave it another steady tap to watch it circle around my parcel.
