Iron Bristles
Mud was dried stiff on my heels from digging by the spigot. Back door flap was right ahead, but Hulk does not drag garden dirt inside. By the step sat a heavy cast-iron boot scraper. Solid metal beast with two stiff bristle brushes clamped tight. I marched over and grabbed the cold iron handle with both hands. Planted one bare foot right into the rough black bristles. Hauled my heel back and forth with steady force. Scritch-scratch! Coarse fibers tore the dry dirt away in clumps. Did the other foot until both were clean green. Deck is messy, but Hulk is ready for shelter.
