Claiming the High Ground
A thick, heavy TV remote was wedged stubbornly between the dense leather cushions. It dared to stick straight up like an insolent stake. I didn't hesitate. I vaulted onto the creased leather crest, planted both boots on the textured rubber buttons, and threw my body forward. The plastic chassis groaned under the leverage, grinding against the tight seam until it snapped flat across the armrest. Solid perch. Now the entire room sits beneath my gaze.
