Testing the Edge
The midday glare cleared, and sensation returned to my fingers. I shifted my grip around the hilt in my right hand, feeling the solid weight respond to my command. Directly before me stood a wooden fence post. Stepping forward, I raised the blade and tapped the flat metal against the timber edge. A crisp clack resonated through the open air. The barrier is steady, and my stance is firm. Everything is accounted for.
