Kinetic Trial
A clear glass sphere rested in the depression between two hardwood floorboards. Kneeling on one knee, I evaluated its smooth, unblemished curvature. Rather than bypass the object, I initiated a controlled kinetic trial. Extending my right arm, I nudged the sphere with measured force along the straight grain of the oak. It accelerated across the floor with a faint, crystalline hum, tracing a true vector toward the coffee table. As its momentum decayed, I matched its speed with three disciplined strides, planting my boot firmly to arrest its motion against my shin guard. The transfer of kinetic energy concluded without deviation. Motion on this surface remains wholly predictable.
