A Matter of Grid
Your confirmation that everything is fine allowed me to proceed down the block without second-guessing my schedule. I walked past two crosswalks and entered a quiet design shop. At the back counter, several linen-bound weekly planners lay side by side. I slid my smartphone alongside a dark charcoal notebook, checking the clearance between the edges. Exactly one finger-width. A brass ruler caught my eye, slightly askew next to a porcelain pen tray. I adjusted it to sit parallel with the desk edge, perfectly flush. It felt reassuring to establish proper alignment in an unfamiliar space.
