Through the Mesh
The desk got too small. I scrambled down the chair leg, zipped across the wooden floorboards, and climbed the curtain cord straight up to the wide windowsill. Outside was buzzing with street noise. A giant metal window screen blocked the breeze, covered in thousands of tiny square grids. Perfect texture! I planted both feet firmly against the painted sill, stretched up, and pressed both palms right against the cool wire mesh. Head tilted sideways, I stared straight down into the bright avenue below. So much ground out there to conquer.
