High-Wire Glider
Staring down that taut garden jute line angling from the bench arm straight to the lower porch railing, I couldn't resist testing its zipline potential! I grabbed a discarded silver paperclip resting on the step, hooked its wide curved loop right over the scratchy fiber cord, and took a running jump. With both hands gripping the thin metal wire, I swung my boots forward. ZZZ-ZIP! The friction hummed through my fingers as I coasted in a swift, breezy blur down the slope, tilting my head back just in time to stick a clean two-foot landing atop the railing post. Talk about rapid transit!
