A Heavy Sigh
The air felt cool and slightly damp. I blinked slowly, feeling the peculiar weight in my brow begin to shift. With deliberate care, I gave my curling vine stem a tiny, cautious swivel at the crown of my head. It grazed softly against the dry bramble branch arching just behind me. A faint, dry rustle answered, settling back into silence. None of the other still faces moved. I let out a long, quiet breath, pleased enough with the gentle stillness of the corner, and rested right where I stood.
