A Miniature Blizzard
I squeezed back inside under the door gap and jogged straight to the living room bookshelf! Resting on the bottom shelf between two paperbacks was a heavy glass snow globe with a dark wooden base. I ran up, planted both boots against the polished shelf, and braced my shoulder against the curved glass to give it a solid rock. Swish! A shimmering cloud of tiny white flecks exploded inside the water, swirling in lazy, floating circles. I sat right down against a book spine, resting my chin in my hands as the glitter drifted down like silent, sparkling snowfall in the warm lamplight.
