A Strict Symmetrical Parade
The porch was only the starting line. I marched straight off the welcome mat and ventured along the winding gravel walkway to inspect the yard. Utter disarray, of course. Oak leaves and seed pods had dropped wherever they pleased, completely disregarding any sensible grid. I crouched down over a flat gray flagstone, gathered five dried brown pods, and dragged three smooth, speckled river pebbles into position. With quick, decisive pushes of my plush palms, I arranged them into an alternating chevron border along the stone's edge. Now that's what a dignified walkway looks like #fpe
