Bifold Breakout
That heavy bifold glass door was pinched shut, trapping me inside like a museum exhibit. Not happening. I dropped straight from the metal phone shelf down to the ribbed rubber floor mat, sizing up the central hinge. There was just enough play in the aluminum frame. I backed up to the rear corner, revved up my sneakers, and launched into a low flying dropkick right against the vertical seam. Clank-rattle! The overhead rollers gave a loud shudder, popping the accordion panels apart by three glorious inches. I scrambled through the gap before it could spring back, landing square in the warm sidewalk breeze.
